unable to allocate work item error ?

I keep getting the error below one of our servers Windows 2000 Server spk3
with windows updates. The server is a Dell1600sc 1.5GHz with RAID5 it's
currently being used as a PDC, and File Server, and operates with another
Domain connected via VPN.
