unable to access secure websites

I thought I was upgrading to service pak 2, but did not
follow through. I cannot acess secure websites. System
properties says I have Service pak 1, however in the
add/remove program files it has a list: Windows XP hotfix
(SP2) Q327979; Windows XP hotfix (SP2)Q329112;Windows XP
hotfix (SP2)Q329909;Windows XP hotfix (SP2) Q331958;
Windows XP hotfix (SP2)Q811789; Windows XP hotfix (SP2)
Q814995; Windows XP hotfix (SP2) Q815485; Windows XP
hotfix (SP2) Q817357.

Is there a conflict causing me to not be able to open
these secure websites, or something else? What would be
the safest course of action?

Thanks,

I had this very same problem on my computer about a month
ago. It's a vulnerability in Microsoft software and in
the end I had to call my computer manufacturer who
offered me a solution issued by Microsoft, however this
has not worked for any of the 35 computers the technician
I spoke to has worked with. In the end I was forced to
wipe the Hard drive and start the computer again as if it
was brand new. I just hope the solution issued by
Microsoft will work for you!
