UDP_OpenSocket: bind: WSAEADDRNOTAVAIL, why, why, why?

Winsock Initialized
Opening IP socket: 70.222.127.424:27960
WARNING: UDP_OpenSocket: bind: WSAEADDRNOTAVAIL

I'm not on a router and I have windows firewall turned off. Google search
shows that when it happens it always happens because of router/firewall, so
I'm posting here just in case someone has had the problem and fixed it. I
keep getting the above warning when I try to run my game. When I try to run
the game I get the same message for every game port all the way up to 27969.
I restarted comp and modem server times. I uninstalled the game and
reinstalled it.

Any thoughts?

I don't know the solution to your issue, but hopefully you haven't gone
online without a firewall. The system can become infected in a matter of
minutes.

I thought MS took care of all that with their security updates?

No, never go online without a firewall. Using a NAT router with SP1 gives
you a certain measure of protection.
