typing "ipconfig/all" for ip address

I just bought a Linksys wireless router and have been
having trouble getting it to work with my Toshiba
laptop. The tech asked me to type in "ipconfig/all" at a
c prompt to get the ip address. No address comes up.
What comes up is:

Windows IP Configuration
Host Name.....Toshy-Baby
Primay DNS Suffix
Node Type ...Unknown
IP Routing Enabled...Yes
WINS Proxy Enables...Yes

Then it goes back to the "C" prompt. From everything
I've seen and heard so far, it should give me lots more
information than that. Any ideas why it isn't giving me
the necessary information? Can it be found somewhere
else?

At the c prompt type in -- ping 127.0.0.1
You should get four replys, if not then your network card is not working
right.
If you get replys go into the routers config page and make sure it is set to
use dhcp and to get it's ip from your isp.
Then in the router config page, see if it is indeed pulling an ip.
If so reboot your computer and see if it's getting an ip from the router.

IF you have a properly installed Ethernet adapter AND you have installed the
TCP/IP protocol for it then typing "ipconfig /all" (The space was missing
from your example) then you should see exactly what you have below plus a
list of installed adapter(s), with their information as well. If there are
no installed adapters or they have no protocols installed, then nothing
beyond the machine info will show.

In that case the ethernet port that you are using to connect is
disabled. Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager and look
for it in Network Adapters - highlight, take Action - Enable
