two many boots

I was running 98se and upgraded to XP, however it took two attempts as on
the first occassion it was installed on the wrong disc which I then wiped.

The trouble is that now when I boot up instead of being offered the choice
of 98 or XP I get 98/XP/XP with one of the XP options pointing to the now
empty drive.

How do I remove this boot option at startup?

Boot into Windows XP and use Start - Run - MSCONFIG. Go to the
BOOT.INI tab and click on the "Check All Boot Paths" button.

Good luck
