I have two Windows 2000 Server domains linked via a VPN.
I want the users of each domain to be able to access computers on the other
domain. I do NOT want them to log on to the other domain.
I have set up trusts - both trusting an trusted - at both ends . At the
moment users can access computers in the other domain but I have two
problems
1. If I try to verify the trusts I get the message (different at either
end):
(a) 'Information form the primary domain controller for the domain
(distant domain) cannot be obtained because: the RPC server is unavailable.
Make sure that the PDC is operating proerly and then try again'; or
(b) 'Windows cannot find a primary controller for the (Other distant
domain). Verdify that the PDC is functioning and then try again'
2. Users CAN log on to the distant domain - this causes a tremendous problem
as the roaming profile takes an hour to load over the VPN
Can anybody help?
