Joining two domains

Ok, we have two remote locations, each with its own domain (PDC and BDC
in each domain). I have established a network link (its a network to
network link over Internet via VPN, 256 kbps capacity) between those
two locations and now we would like to set up trusts so that users from
both locations could access resources on other location. Could you
please poit me to step by step instructions of how to do that? Also
will this link be of sufficitent capacity?

the procedure to setup a trust is explained in:
for external trust

for forest trust

There are just those two separate domains, no forests involved.
Do I need an external trust or forest trust then?

Also, this two locations are in different subnets, will that be a
problem when setting up trusts?

it is AD then it still IS a forest although only containing one domain

if both are w2k3 with forest functional level windows server 2003 you CAN
create a forest trust

or you can always create an external trust

see links for more info
