You can find out most of the time by running a search for "twain"
If you have your drivers, try installing the device again.
Oh, you can uninstall the device, boot, and reinstall when asked.
Only thing is if something used a newer version for twain.
In that case you can rename the .dll to .old. Just remove the existing "dot"
and add .old.
Later you can go back and recover it by renaming it back. If nothing goes
arye after a short time, do a search for *.old and delete the old file.

Yes, I looked. Why does every application not recognize the scanner? Device
Manager sees it and says it working properly. A test page can be scanned
from the control panel. Worked for 2 years on Win2000 SP4 then stopped 1
week ago. No program sees the scanner. No changes to the OS other than the
automatic Windows Updates. Ideas?
