Turn off sounds?

John

I'm running IE 6 on XP Home. Suddenly it's started
playing a sound I don't want to hear whenever I go to a
new site. I've looked in the Sounds and Audio control
panel, and can't find *any* sounds associated with IE
events. Does anybody know where those sounds are
configured?

Do you mean a clicking sound? If so..

Change or remove the sound.
Control Panel-Sounds
"Start Navigation" and "Complete Navigation" are the relevant items.

Scroll down to Windows Explorer and set Start Navigation and Complete
Navigation to None.
