Turn off Office 2000 plugin in AVG?

Oliver W

Can you answer this?

I recently uninstalled AVG and reinstalled it because of some updating
problem. I did the custom install and accepted the "plugin" for
Microsoft Office 2000. Since then, it scanned every Office file that I
opened and I didn't like the time required - about 15 seconds per file.
I could not find a way to stop this behaviour so I uninstalled AVG and
reinstalled it without this plugin.
Was that the only way to stop the scan-on-open behaviour?

(System in case it's relevant: Duron 750 MHz, 512 MB RAM, 20 GB HD + 60
GB HD, Win98 SE - homebuilt PC)

TIA

\In Office 2000, look under Tools, options.

It is a function of Word, Excel, etc.

Thanks for the hint. I might try it, though I would need to install AVG
yet again to do so.

To deactivate the office plugin just type this on Start -> Run... :

regsvr32.exe /u %programfiles%\Grisoft\AVG7\avgoff2k.dll
