Has anyone found a solution for the random occurrence dealing with the power
options in screen saver being ignored by the system yet?
Example:
Turn off option set at 2 minutes (or 1 or 3 or whatever) is ignored (walk
by and notice screen is active). Change to another setting and apply, then
power off works, for an indeterminate amount of time (a day, a week, a month,
etc.).
At other times, like after an XP update, the settings are changed to never.

This has been a problem experienced for several years with XP on different
systems, in different builds and in different environs. No pattern
discovered as of yet.

Any ideas?

No solution has been found that I know of. I have exactly the same problem
with my laptop. I change the settings, create a new power scheme, save the
settings and - boom - the next time I boot up, the old settings are back.
Extremely annoying.
