TS Disconnects with "Because of a protocol error" message

In recent weeks, I cannot stay connected to my Terminal
Server. It disconnects me with the error
"Because of a protocol error, this session will be
disconnected. Please try connecting to the remote
computer again."

My Server is Windows 2000 Server. I do not know for
certain if this is applicable, but the problem began
about the time I upgraded the server to Win2K SP4.
The problem seems to be independant of the client version.

The problem is described in Q824683, but for Windows CE
only.

Thanks in advance for any help.

To clarify further, I can connect fine, but I am kicked
off every few minutes. Sometimes I can stay connected
for 10 or more minutes, sometimes I'm disconnected as
soon as I reconnect. THe disconnect happens more often
when moving the mouse.

The disconnect happens on all clients.
The client is either the Windows XP SP1 Remote Desktop
Connection or the 2003 version downloaded for a Windows
2000 Professional PC. The disconnect happens both on the
internal LAN, and when connecting via the internet.

Thanks again for any help.
