trying to do a full system recovery but disc will not run 'MSVBVM60.DLL uninstalled'?

Hi - I'd really appreciate a little help please!

I have a sony vaio using Windows XP Home. I'm trying to do a ful
system recovery from the original recovery disc. I put the disc in a
a test a few days ago and it went through autoplay fine etc, but
didn't proceed.

Now I'm actually trying to do the system recovery (and desperately nee
to do it tonight!) I'm putting the disc in but it will not 'autoplay'
giving a message that 'MSVBVM60.DLL' is uninstalled so the applicatio
cannot function correctly.

I've searched for the MSVBVM60.DLL file and it appears to be located o
my laptop fine within the WINDOWS/service pack files / etc folders and
can't see any reason why it would be uninstalled. I also can't figur
out how to reinstall it. When I try to open it I need to specify
program to do so, and I've no idea.

Basically all I need is a method to kick off the recovery disc, an
then hopefully the system recovery will take it from there?

Hopefully this is really straightforward and makes sense to someone!!

Many thanks

This would be a question for Sony tech support as it has nothing to do with
Windows XP, however, you need to boot from the CD, not run it from within
Windows.

Restart computer and at start up press F12 key. This will take you to a page
where you can choose the boot device. Press down arrow key until you have CD
drive highlighted. Then press enter key. Now it should say press any key to
boot to CD drive. Make sure the installation disc is in the drive.
