Trying to change Msconfig

L

Lynn

Went into msconfig to try and stop items loading on startup. I just
uniticked 2 items to start with. Office and BTComputing. When I next
started my laptop I had a message saying something about a configuration
tool and starting manually. It suggested ticking normal startup again and
reticking everything. On 98SE I used to be able to untick as many as I
liked and I got no popup message on start up.

Windows XP msconfig does not support simply unchecking an item as did
Windows98, You will need to uninstall the programs if you don't want
them anymore.

That is simply a message reminding you that you chose to disable some
start-up items.
You should have noticed that there was a box to check if you did not want
that reminder to show at each start-up.

Lynn;
Recheck the items in msconfig.
Change the startup options in the programs themselves.
