I've a very strong problem with wmi. When i try to connect
to wmi with wmimgmt.msc i get the following error:
Failed to connect to <local computer>
because "Win32: The system cannot find the file specified."

The service Windows management instrumentation is not
started. When i start the service i get the error:
Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.

When i try to reinstall wmi like the following link:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?
url=/library/en-us/wmisdk/wmi/reinstalling_wmi.asp I get
the same error when starting the service.

In the system eventlog i get a error from dcom every 5
minutes:
DCOM got error "The system cannot find the file
specified. " attempting to start the service WinMgmt with
arguments "" in order to run the server:
{8BC3F05E-D86B-11D0-A075-00C04FB68820}

As result of this failures: The Microsoft Exchange
Management service depends on the Windows Management
Instrumentation service which failed to start because of
the following error: The system cannot find the file
specified.

With file is missing or how to recover this problem.
Please can anyone help me??

I,ve the problem with the wmi resolved. The winmgmt.exe
does not exist in the \system32\wbem directory. I've
restored this from backup and now in works. But how can
this file be removed without user interaction? I've this
warning in the eventlog:

Source: Windows File Protection
Eventid: 64033
Windows File Protection could not be initialized. The
specific error code is 0xc000000f.

I've tested the following solution without success:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=296241

anyone a idea to solve this problem?
