Are you saying I shouldn't reinstall Micro Trend after I get things squared
away? I paid for it, but if it will cause the problem again I will switch.
Can I install Windows Live Mail without uninstalling Windows Mail or should
I uninstall Windows Live and then install Windows Live Mail? Thanks

Gary VanderMolen said:Since the antivirus may have corrupted your mail account,
delete that mail account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate
the account.
If still no joy, I recommend upgrading to Windows Live Mail.

Once you get your email squared away, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like:
AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.

Thanks
Gary VanderMolen said:Your settings look fine, and I was able to connect with that server
(smtp.urhere.net).
Windows Defender does not cause this problem. The most likely culprit
is Trend Micro antivirus, even though you have it turned off. As a test,
uninstall that antivirus, reboot, then try Windows Mail again.
If no improvement, upgrade to Windows Live Mail:

I am having trouble sending e-mail also. I get my e-mail just fine.
This
problem started April 1, or I didn't notice until then, I downloaded
and
installed Vista SP1 on March 30. What is my solution? Thanks
:
Have you recently updated yor VISTA to SP1?
