Trouble after removing SP2

Hey dear Newsgroup,

I recently installed SP2 (using that fancy CD I got by mail) on a
laptop computer. Because it caused some network related trouble, I
decided to remove it. I did so by simply using the uninstall option.
After uninstalling, the software asked to reboot, so did I. After that,
the Windows XP screen (the logo and that loading bar) appear a first
time, then disappears again and the machine reboots. This problem is
the same for Safe Mode startups.
I just can't get to the system. Meanwhile, I made a second, parrallel
setup, but I would be glad if i could return to the initial
configuratioun.

Is there any known problem which sounds similar?

I know, it sounds like somebody tried to do something he shouldn't, but
I actually only used the standard functions.

thanks in advance

Thorben,

How to use 'Last Known Good Configuration'
* Insert the Windows XP CD
* Start the computer > continually press F8
* 'Windows Advanced Options' menu should appear
* Using the arrow keys, select 'Last Known Good Configuration' > Enter
* If a Boot menu appears > using the arrow keys, select 'Microsoft Windows
XP' > Enter

Hey Drew,

acutally, as Windows won't start as it should, it proposes that 'Last
Known Good Configuration' by itself. But trying it ends up in the same
endless loop

thanks anyway
Thorben
