hi,

exactly how are trojans and viruses transmitted over the internet and
downloaded on my pc? from my understanding i think when web sites are visited
without a firewall or an antivirus software on a pc and when stuff is
downloaded the virus or trojan is downloaded as well.

are firewalls adequate or antivirus software is also needed for safely
browsing sites on the internet? can viruses break the defense of certain
firewalls and antivirus packages?

how safe are we with our confidential information on the internet.

Firewalls are NOT for protecting you from nasty apps.

About as safe as giving your credit card to a waiter for a dinner bill

Trojans and viruses are just apps you dont want. They are downloaded if
you choose to download them. One can avoid trojan/virus problems by NOT
downlowning the file, and then not installing the nasty file. It's all
up to you.
