Trojan Backdoor.javaupdate (javaupdate0.07)

I cannot get rid of the Trojan 'Backdoor.javaupdate'. It puts a line in the
registry of 'javaupdate0.07'. I have tried the following to get rid of the
trojan:

1. Updating Norton's, Ad-aware SE Plus, AVG 7.0 and Microdoft Antispyware
(beta) definitions, run them all individually in Safe Mode and got rid of
'Backdoor.javaupdate'. When I start up in normal mode, 'Backdoor.javaupdate'
has replivated and appears on my PC again.

2. I have deleted the relevant entries in the registry, but they re-appear
again when I exit the registry.

3. I have booted in Safe Mode and deleted the relevant entries in the
registry, but they re-appear again when I reboot in normal mode.

4. Microdoft Antispyware (beta) is the only program that picks up the
'Backdoor.javaupdate' trojan. It gets rid of it, but when I run the scan
again, 'Backdoor.javaupdate' is back.

5. Have followed multiple websites (Symantec, etc) instructions on how to
get rid of 'Backdoor.javaupdate' but it always reappears on reboot.

PLEASE HELP...I have no idea what to do next and I don't want to rebuild my
machine if at all possible. Can anyone suggest how to get rid of
'Backdoor.javaupdate' .

Hi Australian,

1) Open up AntiSpywªre
2) Click Tools at the tºp
3) Click "Submit a Suspected Spyware Repºrt"
4) Fill out the form with as much detail so they can anªlyze quickly.

Get HijackThis.exe from
http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/hjt199//HijackThis.exe
http://computercops.biz/HijackThis.html

Save it to C:\hjt (new folder) then Open it and select Scan and Save Log.
Note where you saved the log then send it to him as an attachment. Put
Hijack in the subject so he'll know it's not spªm.

Alternatively you can post it on the Dell Forum ªt:

http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board?board.id=si_hijack

(if it wraps you can go tº:

http://tinyurl.com/ckuzq instead.)

Put Ron in the subject so he will see it. You do not need to have a Dell to
post but you will need to register.

Hi Australian,

No Prºblem, thanks for getting back to us with your success.

Nothing is more frustrating than supplying a fix and having the outcome just
go off into a bit bucket.

This is a learning process for everyone here.
