Doesn't get rid of Vx2.ZServ and EUniverse

Hi,
AntiSpyware still doesn't get rid of the trojan,
Vx2.ZServ nor EUniverse browser hijacker. Nor does it
fix the registry items that are infected.

I've tried the "go into safe mode (F8" recommendation but
I don't know how its supposed to work on and XP system.
I wish I could get more insight as to how to get rid of
these spies and correct the infected registry items.
Thanks,
Phil

Install Ad-aware with the Vx2 plugin.

Hi Phil & Elaine

I have installed and run the Ad Aware with the Vx2plug.
First time around (deep search) it found a lot of
registry entries that MAS hadnt and now the EUniverse
seems to have been removed. I too had tried the safe
boot stuff with no prior success. Otherewise MAS seems
to be doing the job well and I will use this in
conjunction with Ad Aware.

Thanks for the info

I have this same problem and was wondering if you found a
resolution to this problem.
Thanks

Hi Deb,
Well, I took the recommendation to download the free Ad
Aware software from Lava Soft and it discovered 561
spyware infections. I've just run it once but it seems a
whole lot more powerful than this MS beta 1.

I would bet that many of them were cookies (?). MS AS does not check for
cookies currently. I run Ad-Aware Personal Edition as well on my laptop,
which is protected by MS AS, and it finds virtually nothing. Could you give
a list of the 561 objects so we can take a look at them? I would be
interested, and I'm sure SpyNet would as well.
