translator

Greetings!

MS 2003 Professional; Outlook - Trying to import large file from access.
Message, "translator not installed" Seems like this app would have come with
the Pro suite. How do I get 'translator' or get around this hangup?

Depends on the exact error and steps you take. Additionally check your
installation to see which convertors you installed during setup and which
you did not.

Roady,

This was factory install - Dell. How do I check converters. Also, there is
no error message. Just 'Translator is not installed. Would you like to
install translator?" Other thoughts?

So you can answer "Yes" or "No" on that question? What happens when you
click "Yes"?

To see what's installed go to Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs-> select
Office and choose Change/Repair... and follow on-screen instructions to
install additional components.

I have the same problem (but with Basic Office, not Pro). When I check in
Add/Remove programs, I find that the Office installation disc comes with
several translators (e.g. Lotus Organizer, ACT) but not Excel or CSV. I find
this strange.

Continuation to the last message:

It starts installing components. The progress bar goes a little way, then
it stops and reverts to the "This feature is not available" message.
