Transferring files to a new computer

I am having trouble transferring files to my new
computer. I am using a serial direct line connection
(nine pins)and the transfer wizard. the wizard cannot
seeme to recognize the connection. I have checked the
connection and it seems to be Ok. Any suggestions?

However rather than spend a lot of time on a setup like this why not
temporarily connect the Hard Drive from the old system as a Slave to the new
system and then simply copy the files across. It will be much, much faster
to do it this way unless one of the systems is a laptop.
