Greetings,
I purchased 2 easy transfer cables, 1 from belkin and one from radio shack.
On my XP computer I get the following: cannot initlalize the device driver
(code 37).
Anyone seen this or know of a fix?
Thanks

Honest, I did write a reply and I've now seen that it did not show up!
(Typical Microsoft if you ask me ;) )

I have actually been attempting to do the same thing, though I have not had
your specific error. 3 possibilities come to mind.

1) Make sure your computer is set up to recognize plug'n'play with USB. I
think it is under the control panel. You can also check if the USB port is
working properly.
2) Could be the computer USB ports are version 1.1 (I think that's it)
compatible and not version 2 compatible.
3) There is absolutely a very specific sequence for installing the cables
and using Windows Easy Transfer. I have the Belkin cable and found the
instructions that came with it were inadequate. The Belkin website gives a
much more specific sequence along with screen shots.

I hope this helps.

14 minutes might seem a long time to wait... but it's not.

And Microsoft is NOT involved here.

Well needless to say I spent about 4 hours on the phone with MS and they
couldn't find the reason and 2 hours with Blekin and neither could they.
My USB is 2.0

Thanks for the suggestions.

You missed the point! If you look at the thread you will see 2 posts from
me, one after the other to the original message by "lax guy." The first
reply shows nothing that I typed in. And while you may not have ever have
had bad experiences with Microsoft and their products, I have. It is not
slander to speak from experience. I have been forced into these forums
because Microsoft isn't even giving support for the product they created
"Easy Windows Transfer."
