Hi,
Note that with 4.20.0078 TrackerV3 has come to an end.

It is continued under the name XYplorer [eks-wai-plorer].
--> http://www.xyplorer.com/

Everything else stays the same.
Only that the app is getting better and better... ;)

Donald

Seem svery good. I'm playing with it now.
This is handy:
Thumbnails of image files shown right in the file list, introducing the unique "Mouse Down Blow Up" functionality.

Now if only there was a View - Thumbnails only option also...

regards from vegard

So what's the problem with IrfanView? What does this program do that IrfanView doesn't do?
Why should one consider using this program? Is it for thumbnails only? What am I missing
here?
TIA

Hi Donald,
just to say that XYplorer is "super" and to ask to you a new feature.
In Windows Explorer I often use a little trick to set all the columns to the
right width, i.e. Ctrl++. Could you implement it in XYplorer?

Cheers,

The only issue I have with XYplorer is its inability to handle LAN
access. The author has assured me that he is not going to implement it
in the near future so if you have a LAN don't bother. Other than that
it works well.

Hi, Helen.
IrfanView is an image viewer. XYplorer is a file manager / explorer.
I think I decent file manager should have a thumbnail view also.

Thats all. :)

It has no problems exploring pc's on my LAN.

The Author has been in touch again. I will investigate further.

Don: As this thread has developed into a wishlist for XY, could I add mine.
I have a folder in which I keep saved files with .htm or .mht filetypes. In
Windows Explorer If I highlight several of these and right-click they will
*all* open in Windows Explorer, but if I do this in Tracker only one file
opens. In short, each one has to be clicked individually. Am I missing a
setting here, or is this something that needs a fix?

I've not yet installed XY but I assume the above would still apply.

This is a feature: pressing <enter> opens just the focused file; clicking
"open" opens all selected files. Doesn't it?

No, or not exactly. Highlighting a group of items and right-clicking "Open"
opens the "Move Items" dialogue (!!!). Closing this then opens the "Copy
Items" dialogue. Then the first file opens, followed by the Move/Copy items
dialogues, then the second file opens, followed by (you guessed it) the
Move/Items, and so on. I've also tried using "Open with" with both IE and
Netscape but this results in just the focussed file being opened. I also got
a runtime error "91" message <quote> Object variable or With block variable
not set </quote>. I've also tried opening groups of textfiles and music
files with similar results. Tracker version is 20.0025, but the same thing
happened with earlier versions.

Confirmed, using XP home and the latest version of XYplorer.

I'll add mine too. The ability to have a preview pane on the side. Like
Xnews and the more popular newsreaders.

Ok, that's of course very interesting, but let's stop this thread here. What
you are reporting needs a deeper discussion that has to be done in the
forum. Same for the wishes.

XYplorer has a fast file search. And I do mean fast.
