Tooltips: a small but irritating problem

The tooltips for programs' icons in the taskbar keep either hiding behind
the taskbar, or not showing at all.

Yes, I know this is a very minor complaint, but it's REALLY IRRITATING.

I have read everything I can find online in an effort to solve the problem,
from editing registry keys to other fixes. And nothing has worked.

I even reformatted (due to something completely unrelated but major) and
it's happening AGAIN.

Anyone got any ideas? I'd be very grateful.

Thanks

Colin

It can't be stopped permanently from happening. Just reset. The easiest
way is to go to Stat right click on a program in the All Programs list and
choose sort by name. Or you can logout then back in.

Yea I tried that fix (re-ordering the program list) and it doesn't work.
And I don't consider logging out/in (thereby halting all my work) to be an
acceptable solution.

Hi Colin

Try doing the Sort by name trick twice in succession. That always works
for me.

Try to sort several times. As I said there is no permanent solution. Sorry
if that's not acceptable to you.
