To select an option, I have to click on Home on just about everyth

When I first open Word 2007, I'm in the screen where you have on the top line,
Home, Insert, etc etc etc, the rest of the information that falls below
this line is not there. I have to click on "Home" to get everything.

However even when I am selecting a task on this page, I have to select
"Home" to get my option.

As an example, If I want to change font, I have to click on Home to get
it. After selecting a font, only the top line is shown nothing else. Than
if I want to change font color, I have to click on Home to get it. After
selecting my color, it goes back to the top line and nothing ellse below the
top line.

Is there anything I can do to correct this?

Right click in the ribbon area and uncheck "Minimize the ribbon"

It's just that you have the ribbon (the "rest of the information")
hidden. Press Ctrl+F1 or double-click any of the items on the top line
("tabs") to make it permanently visible.
