TMP Files

I have hundreds of TMP files and I want to delete them.

How can I delete them? Are there any qualifications? If so, what are they?

Thank you.

PS I have WinXP Pro with SP2.

I'll reply to you even though you never take the courtesy of replying back.

*.TMP files are temporary files. Theay are created by various software as needed.
Unfortunastely not all software will clean up TMP files or if there is a PC crash they will
linger.

Reboot the PC. Any *.TMP files that don'e have Today's date -- Delete !

There are folders for temporary files. One is an old construct for hard coded programs and
the other is an automatic structure and is pointed to by the environmental variables %TMP%
and %TEMP%.

The hard coded location is; %windir%\temp

Surely by now you know how to delete files ? -- Right ?

There are many places where TMP files hide. But the main one is here
where you can delete them.
Open IE (Inter Explorer), click Tools>Internet Options
Now click Delete cookies, then Delete files including offline content.
You can later download one of many cleaner apps available for free
to clean your system, such as EasyCleaner.
Also run Disk Cleanup at:
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup

I do take the courtesy of replying back. I receive ± 100 e-mail messages/day
and I have not received a follow-up message during the past five or so
years.
