Titles/Credits don't show up

I'm relatively new to Movie Maker (2). I managed to produce a slide show with
music of a friend's wedding. The trouble comes in adding a title & credits. I
found the "Add title/credits" screen. Typed in some text, added animation,
selected contrasting background & text color then clicked on "Done, add to
movie".

All that appears is a grey screen for the entire time that screen shows. It
does show the text below the screen's box on the Storyboard view. What am I
missing?

Double click on the text below the screen's box on the Storyboard view to
edit the text. Then click on change Text Font/colour and make sure the
Background colour is not the same as the text colour.

I think Mr. C's referring to the fact that, instead of seeing the text above
the slideshow - the slideshow stops, the text appears then disappears, and
then the slideshow continues.

What you need to do is, after you select Tools -> Titles and Credits, click
on the third option: Add title on the selected clip in the timeline. That
way, the title will be added as an overlay, rather than a video segment.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, none of those seem to work. All I have is a gray colored screen. I can
see the text on the slide in the timeline view. Also, when I make any changes
to the text color, animation or background color, a capital T shows
momentarily on the slide in the timeline view. The screen continues to be
gray.

Using the 3rd choice as you suggested made no difference. I checked to see
the text & background are contrasting colors and the transparency has been
tried at both ends of the scale and in the middle (just in case).

This seems like such a simple task and I'm no newbie. I'm at a total loss as
to what simple thing I must be overlooking.

It seems like you are one of a number of people who are experiencing
something that hasn't been understood or resolved yet. The last I knew about
it was that Microsoft was collecting info from those who had the problem and
looking into it....
