Tile background?

How can I take a small picture/object and repeat it over the entire
background to look like a tile pattern? I am not concerned with texture. I
want a watermark logo tiled as my slice background.

Click Format > Background.
Click on the drop-down menu, select fill effects.
Click the texture tab and select other textures.
Search for the picture and ok your way out. Click Apply/Apply to all. Hope
it helps.

This only pastes the picture once. I want it repeated on the same slide in a
tile pattern. ??? I know this could be done in older versions.

Are you sure? When I check Format|Background|Fill Effects|Texture and choose
a large picture, it's hard to tell that it's tiling. But if I choose a
picture that's 72 pixels x 72 pixels, I can clearly see it tile.

Try changing the size of your picture and see if that make a difference.
