Thumbnails will not display!!

Hello Again,

Thanks for the info on the earlier post, I am having another problem that
started when I was trying to delete a virus that I couldn't delete. While
trying to delete this, I went in to safemode and deleted as many files in my
temp folders as I could. Unfortunately, after doing this, my thumbnails to
all my picture files would not display, nor can I run some programs like fax
and picture viewer or Norton System Works. What did I do? What can I do to
fix this?

Thanks for your help, Again!

Hi Gary,

For the Thumbnails issue, try this command from Start/Run:

regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll

HI,

I tried running the command, however, I got the following error message:

LoadLibrary("shimgvw.dll") failed - The system cannot find the file specified.

How can I reload this file?

Thanks again,

Gary

Another option is to delete the shimgvw.dll from System32 folder. Windows File Protection will replace a fresh copy of the file from DllCache. If that does not help, try SFC as Taurarian said.

Plus, I would appreciate if you can send a copy of the corrupt shimgvw.dll (zipped) via e-mail.
