Thumbnails are grey in Windows Explorer!

Hi guys!! First off thanks for reading this post- I have
a problem viewing some of my digital photos in Windows
Explorer. In the 'thumbnail view' all the thumbnails
appear with a grey film over them. When you double-click
them and 'preview' them, they are normal, without the
grey....but whats up with this grey thumbnail thing?

It is only on the photos I transfered from another
computer via CD.

Thanks! :) :)

Could be that the thumbs.db file, the cache for thumbnails in each
folder is corrupted. Try deleting it. It will be automatically recreated.

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP
SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Its Explorer - Thumbnail page, reduce the Quality slider setting.
Having it too high has this effect - about 2/3 way up is about as far as
is safe
