HI,
I have a Dimension 5150 that I bought for editing my HD videos and
digital photos for my website. It's out of warranty (sat in a box
while I moved, then didn't get set up for a long time), so I thought
I'd just ask this group about the one problem it has.
It will not display thumbnails properly. In a folder of images, or
on the desktop, it will not display the thumbnail in anything but the
lowest resolution (looks like a 1Kb bitmap image, smaller than a
normal thumbnail). It will also not put the thumbnails into normal
"row order". In other words, instead of the folder showing 6 or 8
thumnails across, it will show one, then on the next row down, another
(always diagonally below, not directly below the one above), and after
4-6 rows of one thumbnail, then it will show multiple thumbnails, but
still not properly.
I was wondering if this was a Windows XP problem, or a graphics
card problem (integrated card, I believe). It doesn't seem to affect
anything but the thumbnails.
Now, when I burn a disk of images, I get the little thing that
comes up saying "thumbs is a program...yadda yadda yadda", so I was
wondering if I could do something to fix the thumbnail display on the
PC. Anyone have any idea?
It's just very annoying to have them display in such low
resolution.
