Those shortcut/pop-up names when typing in the "To:" box

How do you delete those names that pop-up when you start typing in a name
that show all possibilities you have used before. It must be connected to
contacts, but includes names you have typed but never actually made a contact
for. Some of those are old, the person has changed their email, or they were
spelled wrong. I would love to not have 4 different "davids" come up when I
type "Dav" as three of them are no longer applicable.

Include your Outlook version when you post, so we can try to figure out what
you mean.
Assuming you are using a version that supports autocompletion, that feature
is not connected to Contacts data at all--only to messages you have
previously sent.
Remove individual addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting
the entry when presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to
migrate to the entry) and then hitting your Delete key before you tab out of
the field. If your autocomplete list contains only a single entry, use the
directions here:
