In Internet Explorer 6, SP1, when I try to access "Tools -
Internet options" I get the following message:

Restrictions:
"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on
this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

I have not changed any settings. This has just popped up
on it's own. Never had this problem before. I tried
reinstalling IE but same problem. How do I change whatever
settings might be necessary to be able to access "Tools --
Internet Options"?

I am logged on as Administrator. Windows 2000.

Many thanks for any help.

Could be malware. It does that in an attempt to prevent itself from being
removed.

Get Ad-Aware.

Do you have Spybot Search & Destroy on your computer?
If so look at Tools/Ie Tweeks and untick Lock IE Start Page
