"This MSI must be launched through setup"

Recently, I've started getting an error message everytime I try to open
MS Excel, MS Word or MS Powerpoint. It reads "This MSI must be launched
through setup". I never got this message before, but now I get it
everytime I try to open a document. It comes up 3 times and tells me my
Norton is configuring the document and I have to click "ok" 3 times
until it goes away and then my document opens. Can anyone tell me how
to solve this problem? Thanks.

Excel, MS Word or MS Powerpoint."
You really make me wonder what made you decide to post it in an Outlook
newsgroup then.

Anyway, look at the title bar of the MSI installer; what program is
itconfiguring? Sounds like Norton to me and not Office. Troubleshoot
(reinstall) Norton instead or disable its Office integration which is
redundant anyway.

I'm only "computer literate" to a certain degree, so I am lost when it
comes to this stuff. I cannot reinstall my Norton as I do not have a CD
for it. I also don't know how to disable the Office integration on it
which you have suggested.

"I cannot reinstall my Norton as I do not have a CD for it."
If you lost your CD contact Norton support for a replacement.

"I also don't know how to disable the Office integration on it which you

Norton has a control center to manage this or uninstall the component
completely through setup. I'm not a Norton user so I don't know any
specifics on where to do this exactly. Again; Norton support should be able
to help you here.

Thanks. I have been in email contact with Norton and you have actually
been more of a help than they were.
