This javascript buisiness should be solved

Dan P. Beckner

So many people are having trouble with javascript operations and
internet explorer 6.x that Microsoft should be on top of this and
figure it out. Sure must be good for Opera and Netscape Navigator
resellers. I bought Opera and it runs javascript scripts with no
change of configuration of my ZoneAlarm, NAV, AdSubract or any of the
other programs people have speculated cause the problem.

In IE6 when you click on a video or other function requiring a
javascript, the script command appears in the lower part of the
display, but absolutely nothing visible to the eye happens. In my
case there is 100% failure to run. I have tried all the cures
mentioned on this group numerous times. Nothing has ever changed. I
even uninstalled the part of IE6 you can uninstall and reinstalled it.
No Change! C'mon MICROSOFT. If Opera can do it and Netscape can do
it why can't IE6 under XP do it.

I'm in the same boat as Dan -- I've tried just about everything posted to
remedy this problem which seems to have happened virtually over night. No
javascript links will open, and while Sandi's page is helpful, it doesn't
remedy the problem, at least not if you're running Sun's Java which we all
will after 9/2004.

Has anyone figured out a way to fix this problem?
