Third Party Browser Extensions

Rick

I have been having a problem accessing my bank's secure
banking page. The page would load with errors - blank
page with yellow exclamation sign in lower left corner.

Referred to MS Article 870700 - How to troubleshoot
problems accessing secure web pages w/IE6 SP2.

Followed instructions with no change up to - 3rd party
browser extensions.

I was able to fix the problem by clearing the Enable 3rd
party browser extensions box. Following the process I
attempted to determine which browser add on was causing
the problem.

If I check the enable 3rd part extensions, access Manage
Add-ons and disable all add-ons the problem re-occurs. To
repeat all add-ons are disabled. The problem will then
reoccur. I am unable to selectively enable/disable any
add ons because the problem reoccurs without enabling any
of the individual add-ons. The obvious thing I notice
upon starting IE is that my Google toolbar appears if the
enable 3rd party extensions is checked and disappears
when the box is unchecked. Problem also is alternately
fixed.

It sounds like the problem is my Gooble tool bar but
without being able to disable individual add-ons, how can
I tell for sure.

Thanks,

Rick

Hi,
Sounds like you've narrowed it down. Try this...
Someone posted a while back that the AutoFill feature of the Google toolbar
caused this problem on his system. Re-enable browser extensions and try
AutoFill both checked and unchecked. Alternately, you could uninstall the
Google toolbar.

Hope this helps,
Don

Hi,

To selectively uninstalled 3rd Party Browser Extensions,
you may also want to try BHOCop. It's a free program
available here:

http://support.honour.ca/bin/bhocop.zip

(Note, you may want to try Mr. Varnau's suggestion first,
before attempting to uninstall specific BHO's.)

Altrus
