don't be fooled by microsoft into thinking that the service
pack2 xp firewall is the one cure for all your internet
problems.

free test your firewall from symantec

Hmmm just tried that on a computer which is configured in a particular way
and got incorrect results.

Oh well, I'm sure its an honest mistake. It isn't like Symantec are a
security firm trying to scare people into buying their products is it?

I went there and clicking the GO returned a blank page.
Then clicked the 'test your computer's exposure' also returned a blank page.
So, I guess my security passed.
I really expected to see the message ' Your security settings prevent you
from seeing this page'.

I don't believe Microsoft ever claimed that their firewall was the "cure
all" that you claim they did. The Windows Firewall serves the purpose it
was designed for. If you need/want more, there are plenty of third-party
products to choose from.
