The Zone and standard characters

Hello
Since I use the XP Professional and while parking in
the "new" Zone rooms for Backgammon, I can not type any of
the secondary standard caracters like "@" or "§" in the
rooms chat areas. Those caracters remain available in any
word processor or email program.
Is there any explanation for this, please?

It's a bug. I believe I read somewhere that the zone dev team are working
on it (they always say that though ))

Can you type ALT+0167 to get the § (i.e. Hold down ALT key and then tap 0167)

Yes Frenchy, I can type that § using the ascii code, in a
Zone room. Checked your ascii-chart and the "@" is not
there, for some reason. Never mind. Anyway, thanks for
your help and, as Buzz says, perhaps that error in the
Zone is a bug... Hoping that they are taking care as for
some other irritating and numerous bugs that came after
the unfortunate so called "zone changes".
