the system has recovered from a serious error

hi i have just got broadband and i have noticed now that
my pc is on overnight downloading,i have returned in the
morning to find it has re-started and the message...the
system has recovered from a serious problem..although
other times it stays on with no problems..i have an error
signature not sure if this helps or not.
