"The Specified user does not exist" error?

Hope someone can help with this strange one I had today.

A Windows XP Pro user on a Win2000 domain, had been working happily this
morning on her PC. Came back after lunch and after logging in, couldnt access
her mapped F: or S: drives or her Outlook profile. The machine was giving the
following error when double clicking on F:...
"F: is not accessible. The specified user does not exist.
Same message for S: and a similar message for the email.

Nothing had been changed during lunch and I presume that she was only able
to login due to the "cached credentials" feature.

I checked her group memberships in the domain, checked her account wasnt
locked, etc etc, which all looked fine.
Got her to login to another PC on the same domain and she could access
everything fine!

I ended up deleting her profile off her PC and that seemed to cure it, but
then had to spend 1.5hrs setting up all her printers, shortcuts, outlook
profile etc etc, and of course all her IE faves had also gone which she wasnt
too happy with!

I have never seen this one before and wondered would there have been a
better way of solving this?

Any ideas would be most welcome...

Thanks
Mark...

Sounds like you've got a creepy lunch-times creeper in your midst.
Have her lock her account or apply a screen-saver with a password.
