The services.msc menu keeps shutting down as soon as it is opened.

Everytime I try to open my antivirus program (AVG Grisoft) the menu will come
up but will instantly shut down as soon as it opens. I went back and
uninstalled and/or deleted every trace of the program and re-installed it but
it keeps doing the same thing. I went into my Security Center which says
that the Security Center is unavailable because it was not started or
stopped, so I went into my start menu, and ran the "services.msc" and the
menu came up but it shuts down literally seconds after it opened. What's
going on and what can I do about this?
Any hint at all would be greatly appreciated!
