The questions that occur upon XP SP3 install restart

I'm updating my sister's PC to XP SP3 via remote connection, and if someone
could refresh my memory on the questions that the system asks during the
post-install restart, it would be appreciated, as I cannot access the PC
until the system completes the full restart. (I looked, but could not find
them anywhere on the Microsoft website.) She will read them to me if
necessary, but I'm hoping to be ready in advance so it will go more smoothly,
as time may be an issue. Thanks!

I would not ever install any Service Pack of any remote connection.
Remote connections, especially Remote Desktop, could be rendered
"disabled."

It asks if you want to turn on automatic updates.
It also starts the Security Center and Automatic Update services, even if
these were previously disabled.

That is the main reason I haven't rolled-out SP3 across the LAN as it means
I'd have to be there in-person at each machine, to cancel these nags. It may
be possible to code a settings-fix script, but I've yet to look at this.

Thanks for the comment. While LogMeIn is not the same as Remote Desktop, I
don't know enough about the technical underpinnings of LogMeIn to say whether
that kind of issue would come into play here.

Suffice to say, had my connection been disabled -- I ran the pack update
successfully last night -- anything that needed doing (including the
questions I asked about) would have had to have been handled over the phone
with my sister.

As it turned out, I watched the progress until it got to the restart point
and left it until this morning. When we restarted it, the questions never
came up. I'm thinking -- per the next reply below -- that these settings
were at "optimal" so Windows saw no need to quiz us.

Thanks for the reply, and the refresher, as I remember now that those were in
fact the questions. It turns out -- as noted in my first reply above -- that
we never got the questions this morning, and I'm guessing it was because she
already had Automatic Updates set to "maximum", so Windows saw no need to ask.

Maybe you could test this with some of the machines you administer. First,
a few with less than full Automatic Updates setting. Then, a few with one or
more, but not all, set to full. Finally, a few with all of them set to full.
Then you'd know whether that was the reason, and go from there.
