The printed out document shows a sentence that is double printed

On the screen, before printing out, the sentence is typed as it should be,
but after printing out the document, the same sentence is double printed or
overprinted on the same line. How do I correct this so that it will print
out correctly.

It's possible that the second copy of the sentence is in a text box, and
that your options are set to print but not display it on screen.

Go to Tools > Options. On the View tab of the dialog, check the Drawings
option. (Note that there is also a Drawing Objects option on the Print tab
of the dialog.) Now look at the document (in Print Layout view). If the
second copy of the text is visible now, select it and delete it.

If that doesn't display it, it's unlikely but possible that the extra text
is marked Hidden -- although that doesn't explain how it could be positioned
to overprint the regular text. Still, there are separate settings for Hidden
text in the View and Print tabs of the Options dialog, so that possibility
needs to be examined.

Finally, you may be able to grab the extra text in the Print Preview if you
can see it there. Click the Magnifier button on the toolbar to turn it off,
and you can edit the text in the preview.
