The order rules run in outlook

How do I change the order that rules run in outlook? They appear in the order
they are created but this is not the order I wish to run them.

Diane,

I've long wondered if the rules run from top to bottom or bottom up. Where
did you learn this information? It isn't in Outlook Help nor implied through
the UI in any way that seems clear to me.

Please convery to the Office team to detail this critical piece of
information in Office 2010 and perhaps they can integrate it in to a 2007
Help update.

TIA - Dale

and using the up and down arrow icons to move the rule.

"Applied in the order shown" is in the rules wizard, right above the rules
list, but most of us browse over that in the header or quickly forget its
there.
