"The message interface has returned an unknown error"

Have a colleague that is getting "The message interface has returned an
unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook." as a message when
he does a send email function from within Word doc ('07). In other words,
when he tries to go directly from the document and alt-f,d,e send, this
message dialogue comes up. Weird thing is that if he DOES NOT try to send
(if he does, then the message will keep popping up), and rather escapes out,
and saves the message (which places it as unsent in the inbox of his
outlook), he can then open the message from there and send successfully.
Again, if he tries to send, msg appears, and then does the steps of saving,
that doesn't work. At that point, trying to escape produces the same
message. But if he shuts down the doc, opens up again, and saves, he can
send with no issue.

Any ideas?

If you are going to pretend to your colleague that you are a Windows
guru, at least learn to use search engines.

Vanguard, I have to thank you for two things. First, you found a link I had
not seen (yes, I search before I post). Second, you've highlighted for
anyone that sees the post the exact reason why most people who don't deal
with computers a lot are too intimidated by technology (and those who
proclaim to be experts) to even try to ask questions to get more educated.
If you're wondering why I would never recommend my friend try to go online
and ask for help himself, you're the reason. Congratulations for showing how
NOT to make people feel like they should embrace technology, even if at times
it may challenge them. I would suggest you consider the damage tone can do to
an otherwise very useful and helpful response. Takes the wind right out of
the good nature you probably intended when you posted a reply.

That aside, I reiterate that the post was helpful.
