I have upgraded my PC from Windows 2000 Pro to XP Pro. The
main reason for doing so was to enable remote access to my
PC so I can more efficiently administer from home. I have
several PC's and servers that are setup here with Terminal
Service and XP's version of TS - Remote Desktop
Connection. The problem seems to lie within the upgrade
itself. I have a laptop that came with XP Pro and I have
no trouble connecting to it through any PC in the place.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so do you
know of a fix or patch that resolves the issue

Take a look at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=289289 and also
check out the following snippet from a post by David Jones:
This error means that the account you're using is missing
a requirement to be able to use Remote Desktop.

The account you try to log in with must have the
following:

A password.

Be a member of the Administrators OR Remote Desktop Users
group

OR

Have the "Allow Login through Terminal Services" user
right.

You can check the third (the right) by
opening "gpedit.msc", and expanding Computer
Configuration->Windows Settings->Security Settings->Local
Policies->User Rights Assignment. The "Allow Login
through Terminal Services" right will be on the right-
hand pane, double-click it and add this account.
