Text Over Background Photo

M

Mike

Hi

Quick question but maybe tough to explain. I would like
to put some text over a background photo. Black with a
shadow, as well as white witha shadow blends into the
picture. Emboss works a little bit...but not as much as
I would like.

What works the best is the font style that it uses for
WordArt (Dark black outline around white text).

All of my text won't fit in the wordart box -- does
anyone know how to create that font or have any
suggestion as to how to have the text show up the best??

Thanks.

Mike,

The "text shadow" setting (next to bold, italic, underline) on the toolbar....will apply a black drop shadow...if the
background color is not also black.

The "shadow" setting (on the lower toolbar) will also apply a drop shadow (to anything) to your text.....with this you
can choose the color and the position....using the shadow toolbar.

With a combination of the both shadows...you can have the text shadow (to the right and lower down)....then move the
"shadow" higher and to the left....this creates a black (almost an outline) around the text to make it legible.

You can change the font size in WordArt, of course. If you mean that it's too
large to fit on one line, create two WordArt objects and group them.

You may also try entering your text in a semi-transparent rectangle. In PPT
2002 and 2003 you can also have rectangles with transparent gradiant (using
fill effects), which looks good.

Kind regards,
Ute
