Ppt text hard to read over video

Our church has Ppt 2000 on Windows 2000. We are using an Edirol V-4
mixer/keyer to run a nature video behind our song lyric slides during
worship.

Our slide format is to have a black background with white, shadowed
text. The luminescence key replaces the black with the video.
Unfortunately, the white text is lost when the video is showing
lighter scenes, like clouds or sunlight. And if we switch to dark
text, the dark video scenes swallow the text as well.

We have tried making the text large, thick and shadowed (both object
shadow and text shadow). But I just can't get a good enough outline
and shadow to make the text stand out.

Am I missing a good outline-and-shadow font to use? Is there a fix
besides using a solid text box to beef up the contrast?

Thanks for your help!

Use the shadow on the font to outline text down and left. Then use the
Shadow tool to replicate this to the top and right. The result is a darkish
outline around a lightish letter.

Best solution I know of is to use slightly reduce the size of the video so
there is a black border at bottom (or wherever) of slide. Then the text
isn't coming up over the video - it's coming up over a static background.

This works with any background color. Sometimes in brightly lit churches or
chapels, a light background is better for legibility.
