Text/Comment Box appears magically

My boss gave me a spreadsheet (that he did not create) where a text box
appears when you click in or are residing in a cell, and disappears when you
leave the cell. Format-wise the box looks like a comment box, but is not
attached to a cell (with a connecting line) nor is it edit-able. Within the
cell itself, the formula line appears blank and you can even type something
in and it doesn't change the text/comment box. Now he wants me to re-create
that commentary function in a new spreadsheet. I want to dazzle him with my
Excel knowledge...any ideas on what I am looking at and how to do it in a new
spreadsheet? Thanks.

Hi!

It might be a data validation input message.

Select the cell in question.
Goto Data>Validation
Select the Input Message tab (if it doesn't automatically open)

Is the message there?

Good day!

Need some help...

I need to add a little window popup to my .xls after people open it...

So that they first thing they see when they open the sheet is this window...

How do I do that?

Thanks!

David
